A study of selected musical cultures with a regional presence, including the role of the drum in Canadian aboriginal practices. The course will engage students in a study of the musical cultures, including an applied, experiential component of music making. When appropriate, students shall be engaged in observation of, and reflection upon, selected musical practices in authentic performance contexts. Prerequisites: MU100.
